Wädi as our local garden

Food is a basic human need and has a major impact on our health and well-being. But how and where we produce and consume our food also has an impact on the environment and the climate. In Wädenswil, committed citizens have joined forces to fight for sustainable nutrition and a liveable city while trying to keep the distance between production side and consumer as short as possible.

The project "Edible Wädenswil" was launched to raise awareness for sustainable nutrition and to support local food production and is inspired by the idea "Incredible Edible" from England. The goal is to make the city of Wädenswil a place where edible plants are everywhere - in gardens, public spaces and parks.

Locations:

Floraweg 4, 8820 Wädenswil

Neuguetstrasse / Müller-Thurgau-Strasse, 8820 Wädenswil

Im Gwad 4, 8804 Au ZH

Gessnerweg 5, 8820 Wädenswil

Through joint actions such as creating community gardens or planting fruit trees, an awareness of the importance of sustainable nutrition and the benefits of a locally produced food supply is created.

The "Edible Wädenswil" project is an inspiring example of the change towards a more sustainable and liveable city. It shows how every individual can make a contribution to improving our environment and our society.

The best thing next to the community spirit is, that you can harvest the food you have grown as a community locally and use it for a delicious meal afterwards.
